This book was inked by JJ, but was created by a community - and it is so much more than a coloring book. It is an adventure book, and experience book, a seek-&-find, story, shared moments book. JJ crafted this engaging his audience on his 'lives', asking for ideas and taking suggestions, and drawing upon the art and humor of like-minded friends and fans...and it is so evident that this book came from many. You can simply color you way through the book and you will have definitely got you money's worth of mindful entertainment. Or- you can find all the hidden gems in each page, learn the story of Speedo Frog and all of his companions, try your own hand at drawing, inking and using a brush pen. JJ and the cu...book club have thought beyond just coloring, to make this book an adventure - a conversation starter - a practice in slowing down, being mindful in the moment and strengthening your own craft. This was the one Christmas present this single dad bought for himself and it is worth every, reasonably-priced penny.
I absolutely love this coloring book! First off, the laminated soft-touch cover really does feel amazing. The book itself is full of so much detail. Every page feels like a little world of its own, and you could easily spend an hour on a single page just taking in all the little details before you even start coloring!
One of my favorite things about JJ’s creative process is that he brings the cul— uh, Book Club community along with him by going live on TikTok while he works on his projects. It makes the finished book feel like a true collaboration between the artist and the community that supports him, which makes owning a copy feel extra special.
And as if the book itself weren’t already great, it also came with a bookmark and stickers. Such a cute bonus!
You can tell how much thought, creativity, and love went into this. If you enjoy coloring books with tons of personality and details to explore, Speedo Frog’s House is absolutely worth checking out!
